Grow Your Email List, Grow Your Business

One common goal of every entrepreneur is to make profit and profit can only come when sales are successfully carried out. Now, someone comes into your store and makes a purchase… good news! A new customer just gets in. But then what happens? He leaves. Once he leaves that may be the end! Bye-bye.

That’s too bad because these customers determine the success of your business. There are people who have already had a wonderful customer experience with you and are likely would want to do business with you again.

The truth is this; it’s more cost effective to get existing customers to buy more from you than it is to find new customers. But what most you do to ensure these actual customers return to your store again? make sure your customers drop their contact details with you. You can do this in two ways:

  1. Create a space in your invoice for phone number and email address
  2. Give out a short survey to the customer asking them to share their experience shopping in your store. Make sure your survey form has space for customer’s contact phone number and email address. Ask them if they would like to be emailed each time you have something special for them.

This scenario is also true if you have an online store. If someone visits your website, it’s unlikely they’re going to come back unless you have a way to encourage them to do so.

How can you encourage customers to come back to your store or website?

I’m sure you know the answer here; you need to get their email address. Then you have a way to contact them to turn first-time shoppers into repeat buyers.
